A Day in the Life at J Spiders: A Journey of Learning and New Experiences
Today marked my 7th day at J Spiders. My alarm went off at 6:00 a.m., and my eyes opened just enough for me to stop it and drift back to sleep. I thought I had a few more minutes, but when I woke up again, it was already around 7:00 a.m. By 7:30 a.m., I needed to be in the classroom, so I hurriedly got up, got ready, and headed toward the institute.
As usual, the faculty wasn’t there when I arrived. He showed up a bit late, but the class began soon after. He discussed various scenarios related to variable declaration, initialization, possible errors, and so on. After the Java class, I was supposed to attend an aptitude class, but since I hadn’t had breakfast yet, I decided to go to a nearby restaurant to eat.
I ordered a Rava Dosa for the first time in Bangalore. I’ve been trying different dishes daily, and I must say, the Rava Dosa was huge! The taste was good, but the quantity was too much for me to finish. Despite that, I tried my best to finish it and then rushed back to the class. I didn’t get a coffee because I was running late, but when I arrived, the instructor hadn’t shown up yet.
As I walked in, I noticed I couldn’t get a good seat due to my tardiness. However, it wasn’t an issue as the instructor arrived shortly after. He continued with the topic of syllogisms, providing us with a few questions, and then started a new topic on directions. He explained everything clearly, which was helpful.
After the aptitude class, there was supposed to be a presentation class. Everyone headed to the class, but I decided to skip it. I had to apply for the TCS NQT examination, which required sorting out a few things, including creating a resume. I hadn’t had the chance to make one yet because of my busy schedule, so I used the break between classes to start working on it. Unfortunately, I didn’t finish it, and time ran out before I could complete it.
I went for lunch, came back to my room, and had about half an hour before the next class. I spent that time scrolling through social media, and before I knew it, it was already 2:30 p.m. Normally, I leave for class at 2:30 p.m., but since the faculty had been arriving late recently, I wasn’t too worried about being late. However, today, I didn’t expect the instructor to come on time.
By 2:40 p.m., I left my room and headed to class, thinking I might be a bit late, but when I arrived at 3:45 p.m., I found the trainer had already started. I hadn’t expected him to come so early since he usually arrives around 3:00 p.m. Anyway, I joined the class, and the trainer continued with the SQL session. He gave an overview of SQL statements and mentioned we would discuss everything in detail later.
After the SQL class, there was a grooming session for those preparing for the TCS NQT examination. I stayed in the classroom for a while, but no one showed up. I waited until about 4:45 p.m., and by that point, the classroom was overcrowded. I was frustrated from waiting, so I decided to leave, thinking the session was canceled. However, as I was leaving, the instructor’s assistant asked me if I wanted to put my attendance. I was surprised, as I thought I’d be marked absent for leaving early. She allowed me to put my attendance, and I went back inside.
When I returned to the class, the instructor was there, and the grooming session began. The new instructor was teaching aptitude today, focusing on permutation and combination, arithmetic progressions (AP), geometric progressions (GP), and divisibility rules. The class ended around 6:20 or 6:25 p.m., and by then, I was completely exhausted. I went back to my room, dropped my bag, and prayed Maghrib namaz.
Afterward, I decided to go out for dinner. I didn’t have a specific plan, but I was craving something outside. I walked through the streets, checking out different stalls but didn’t find anything appetizing at first. Eventually, I came across three food stalls, and people were eating Pav Bhaji. I decided to give it a try, though I’m not a big fan. It was delicious, but I couldn’t understand why people were willing to pay so much for just a small serving. The price didn’t seem worth it, but I still ate it.
Even after having the Pav Bhaji, I was still hungry, so I stopped by a pani puri stall on my way back. After eating that, I returned to my room, where I received a call from my mother. She wasn’t feeling well, so I talked to her for a while to comfort her. Then, I got a call from a friend, and we had a long conversation that lasted almost an hour.
Finally, I sat down to write this blog. I’ve been reflecting on the topics we learned today, and now it’s time to publish it. I’ll wrap it up here, and I’m looking forward to another day tomorrow. Thanks for reading, and I’ll see you later!
