My journey with you | All you wish will be here !!!
My journey with you | All you wish will be here !!!
Today, I started my day early, at around 3:30 AM. The first thing I did was call my mother and make sure she woke up. After that, I freshened up and went downstairs to grab my tiffin, which I had kept in the fridge. Once I was ready, I offered Namaz. Afterward, I ate a few slices of bread. Since yesterday was Saturday, our PG didn’t offer chapatis—only rice was available. So for Sehri, I started with a few almonds that I had soaked overnight, followed by a date. Then, I ate some slices of bread, and finally, I had the rice I brought from the fridge. After offering Fajr Namaz, I was tempted to check social media since I had no urgent plans to go to the institute today. However, at the same time, I felt very sleepy. My body is now used to sleeping after Fajr Namaz, so I wore my eye mask and tried to sleep longer, as I had no immediate commitments.
However, at around 8:30 AM, I received a call – and you can probably guess what it was – Nature’s call! 😂 After using the restroom, I went back to sleep, waking up around 10 or 11 AM. At that point, I was in the mood to sleep more, but I forced myself to get up and take care of some pending tasks.
I started with some updates on my website and blogs, which took a bit longer than expected and left me feeling a bit tired. After completing that, I set aside my laptop and just relaxed for a while, with my eyes closed. Before I knew it, I had dozed off again, and when I woke up, it was already around 3 PM. That’s when I realized I hadn’t performed Zohar Namaz yet. I quickly performed Wudu and offered the prayer.
I then took a look at my to-do list and recalled the pending tasks. One of them was to update my blogs and website, which I had already completed. The next task was ledger entries, so I entered all the expenses from the past 10 days, which also took some time. After that, the remaining tasks were minor, like grocery shopping and planning dinner, which I planned to take care of in the evening.
After shutting down my laptop, I grabbed my phone to search for dinner options on Zomato. But, I quickly got discouraged as the price of every dish seemed to double or triple by the time I added all the extra charges—GST, restaurant charges, platform charges, delivery charges, and whatnot. At that point, I thought it would be better to dine in at the restaurant instead of ordering food online.
As I scrolled through social media, I came across a video about a drink-and-drive accident in Vadodara, Gujarat. I got curious and spent about half an hour researching the incident. After that, I checked a few messages from tourist companies about weekend travel packages. They offered some good deals, but since I am tied up with institute work and my plans for Eid ul Fitr next week, I won’t have time for any trips for the next 15 days. So, I saved the contact details for future reference. One of the packages I found interesting was for Ooty, but I decided it was best to do some research first to see if it’s worth visiting. This took about 30 minutes.
In the midst of this, I received a message from my college about a presentation on April 12, which I had to attend. I asked if it was compulsory since I am currently in Bangalore, and she confirmed that it was. However, I searched for train options, and none were available. I decided to ignore that for the time being and focus on the things I could control.
After completing my research on Ooty, I concluded that it’s a good plan, but with my busy schedule from now until April 15, it looks like I won’t have time for travel anytime soon. It was around 5 PM, so I decided to wait for another 30 minutes before heading out.
After this break, I got ready to go to the Masjid to offer Asar Namaz. I asked my roommate if he wanted to join, but he declined. When I reached the Masjid, I offered the prayer and waited for Iftar. After Iftar, I offered Maghrib Namaz. I was craving Samosas, so I went outside the Masjid to find a stall. Unfortunately, the onion samosas were finished, and only keema and chicken samosas were available. Just as I was about to go back inside, I spotted another stall selling onion, egg, and chicken samosas. I decided to try the egg samosa, as it was new to me.
After offering Maghrib Namaz, I walked towards a restaurant called Sharif Bhai’s Biryani, which was about 1.7 km from the Masjid. If you’ve read my previous blog, you know how tasty and worth it their Ramzan special combo is. Despite the distance, I thought it was worth walking that long for a good meal.
While walking, my mother called, and I spoke to her until I reached halfway. After ending the call, the remaining path felt much longer, and I kept checking the distance on Google Maps. Finally, after a long walk, I arrived at the restaurant, which was quite nice. The service was good, and I sat at a table to check out the menu. There were some funny meme-style decorations around the restaurant, which I’ll share with you below.
I decided to order a starter—egg bhurji with a paratha—and for the main course, I went with biryani rice. As I was waiting for my order, I realized I hadn’t looked at the dessert menu. I discovered a new dish called “(egg) ande ka mithai” and decided to give it a try.
When my starter arrived, I dug in. The egg bhurji with the paratha was tasty, but I thought the paratha size could have been larger given the price. After finishing my starter, the biryani rice was served. It was delicious, but I couldn’t finish it all. So, I asked the waiter to pack the leftovers along with the remaining egg bhurji.
I also ordered the dessert, and after a few minutes, it arrived. The dessert was funny because the spoon they gave me was unusually long, as though I had to eat from a vertical glass. But, it was just a plate of dessert! Nonetheless, I enjoyed it.
After finishing my meal, I asked for the bill. However, despite waiting for some time, the waiter didn’t bring it. Instead, he handed me the parcel with my leftovers. I went to the counter to ask about the bill, and they apologized for the delay due to a technical issue. After waiting for a few more minutes, I got the bill, made the payment, and started walking back to my PG.
On the way, I remembered I still needed to buy groceries. There was a supermarket nearby, so I went in. But instead of carrying everything back to my PG, I realized I could buy everything at the nearby store close to my place. So, I made the purchase and headed back to my PG.
At my PG, I put my food parcel in the fridge, then cleaned my tiffin and filled it with two chapatis. I also filled my water bottles and soaked a few almonds. After everything was in order, I called my grandmother, aunt, and cousin (who had some questions about her project). After all those conversations, I started writing this blog.
It’s been an hour now, and I’m finishing up this post. That’s it for today—let’s see what new stories tomorrow brings! If you have any queries or would like to collaborate, feel free to reach out to me via comment or email. Stay tuned for more updates!
Thanks for reading, and goodbye!
